Teaching language and other school subjects at the same time has become increasingly popular. Students are learning mathematics, biology, and history in English, but subject area teachers may not have the pedagogical preparation to teach the language component. This course will present practical approaches to teaching grammar and vocabulary in content classes.

Sobre a professora
Kristina Speakes is a doctoral student in Education at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo where she studies English language instruction in Brazilian private schools. She also has master's degrees in Education and in Applied Linguistics. She has been teaching English language, linguistics and language pedagogy for over 20 years, having taught in universities, both public and private schools, as well as language institutes in Japan, the US and Brazil. Kristina is currently an 8th grade English teacher. Her research focuses on bilingual and elite education.
